Helen Campbell

Fine Artist

Studio: MSS 13

Helen’s inspiration to paint comes from our relationship with the natural world, in particular, the invisible energies that drive wind and tide and turn the seasons.

Initially fascinated by the movement of the sea, she has widened her focus to address our human need to connect with the rhythm of Nature.  In our over-stimulated, hyper-connected world it is easy to lose sight and feel, quite literally, ungrounded.  Helen walks the clifftops of Cornwall where the elements are at their purest and plugs herself back in, slowing the pace and feeling the stresses blow away.  She brings that feeling back to her studio where she uses sketches, studies and memory to convey the emotion she felt in that moment when senses and seasons connected.

Helen also works with portrait and life models, she has a particular interest in the relationship between physical injury and its effect on mental health which stems from her own experience.

Helen is a member of The Artists Pool, a collaborative of artists in all disciplines working together on exhibition and charitable projects to promote art as an activity for all.  She shows her work in the UK and internationally, a full biography can be found on her website:
